The one thing you should do to be remembered

I don’t normally resort to having titles like this, but this one thing is one of the most important I know of.

I am not going to tell you yet, but if you do this one thing I suspect you will agree that it is a premiere difference maker.

If you do not do this one thing then you may not find it to be that big of a deal.  Try it and you will see.

Have I strung you along enough yet-I think I have.

The one thing you should do to be remembered is to write a hand written note to say thank you.

This is such an easy thing, but also such a hard thing because it requires a couple of things that most of us lack:

  1. Planning
  2. Time
  3. Follow-through

My wife is the best I know at doing this.
I used to work for the YMCA and our CEO, Clark Baker,

wrote five notes every day.

He had a system and he stuck to it.

Just think of the impact you can make on others if you do the same.

I am going to be like Bill Murray in ‘What About Bob”.  I will start with baby steps by writing at least one per day, then moving to 2 per day and then to 3 per day.

I am going to start on Monday July 16.

Will you make my list?  Watch that mailbox.

What about you?  Do you want to be remembered by that hiring manager, that potential client or that good friend?

Write the note-it will work!
