Finding your Next #Job-What to do?
Some of you will look at this title and think I have added an extra keystroke with the # key in the title. Trust me, I have not. This post is not a post on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), but adding that pound sign will make the content of this article much more readily findable to others who are looking for job search information.
Tuesday October 25 I will conduct the second in a series of 3 webinars for NSPE on the areas of job search and career planning. I have worked with the engineering world and engineers for over 10 years now, but in a broader respect I have worked with engineers for over 30 years if I include myself. My original degree is in Engineering Physics way back in 1981 and I can be as geeky as they come when I need to be. I even owned and used a slide rule back in the olden days of my youth. Enough on the history front.
Finding your next job is much different than it would have been 10 or even 5 years ago. Many of us in the Baby Boomer world have seen significant change in the methods of obtaining employment and my webinar presentation will talk about what has changed and what has stayed the same in this process.
Here are some of the core principles I will talk about on Tuesday morning:
- The importance of networking and growing/maintaining your network
- How Social Networks are used in the recruiting process?
- What Social Networks do you need to have a presence in?
- How will mobile devices continue to change the recruiting process?
I’ll spend some time this week going into further detail on these topics, but you can sign up for this webinar (cost is only $25 if you are a NSPE member, $49 if you are not) by clicking on this link.
I think you will find the webinar to be interesting and valuable.
